Türkiye Updates Traffic Rules on Phone Holders in Cars

Türkiye Updates Traffic Rules on Phone Holders in Cars

Türkiye Officially Allows Windshield Phone Holders in Vehicles

New traffic regulations in Türkiye now officially permit the use of phone holders placed on the windshield, as long as they do not obstruct the driver’s field of vision.

The updated rules clarify how in-car devices and equipment can be used without violating traffic safety regulations.

What Is Now Allowed

Under the new regulation in :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}, several common in-car devices are now officially permitted when used correctly.

  • Phone holders on the windshield are allowed if they do not block the driver’s view.
  • Smartphones may be used in holders for navigation purposes.
  • Dash cameras are not considered a violation when properly installed.
  • Built-in vehicle multimedia screens are not subject to these restrictions.

Rules on Loud Music Updated

Regulations regarding loud music inside vehicles have also been clarified. A fine can only be issued if excessive noise is officially confirmed to disturb public order.

Authorities emphasize that penalties will apply only when noise levels are formally documented as a public disturbance.

The aim of the update is to improve clarity in traffic enforcement while maintaining driver safety standards.
