Türkiye Introduces AI for Government Spending Control
Türkiye Uses Artificial Intelligence to Monitor Government Spending
Türkiye’s Ministry of Treasury and Finance is introducing artificial intelligence to analyze public finances and identify potential risks related to the inefficient use of government funds.
The artificial intelligence system has already identified more than 2 billion Turkish liras in spending with potential risks of inefficient use of public funds.
Artificial Intelligence Analyzes Millions of Financial Transactions
The new system uses artificial intelligence to analyze large volumes of financial data and identify errors, irregularities and potentially risky expenditures at an early stage.
The technology is designed to help detect potential problems before they result in financial losses, allowing authorities to examine transactions and take action more quickly.
Millions of Records Processed Every Year
The scale of the financial data processed by the system is significant. Türkiye’s public finance infrastructure handles millions of accounting and payment records every year.
- around 150 million accounting records annually;
- approximately 18 million payment orders;
- around 10 million electronic invoices.
Artificial intelligence can analyze this information on a large scale, helping authorities identify transactions that may require additional review.
Digitalization Also Reduces Paper Consumption
The use of digital financial systems is also contributing to a reduction in paper consumption within the public sector.
Digitalization efforts during 2025 and 2026 helped save approximately 200 million sheets of paper.
The transition to electronic records, payment systems and invoices is reducing the need for printed documents while making financial information easier to process and analyze.
Artificial Intelligence in Türkiye’s Public Finance System
The introduction of artificial intelligence represents another step in the digitalization of Türkiye’s public finance system.
By combining large-scale financial data with automated analysis, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance aims to improve monitoring, identify potential risks earlier and support more efficient management of public resources.
The use of artificial intelligence allows large volumes of financial transactions to be analyzed more efficiently and helps authorities identify potential risks before they result in losses.
