Turkey Launches New Scholarship Program Worth 13,750 TL per Month

Turkey's Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has introduced its first national scholarship program designed to support talented university students pursuing careers in the country's strategic industries. Under the new initiative, 300 students will receive a monthly scholarship of 13,750 Turkish lira.

The program aims to prepare highly qualified professionals for Turkey's energy, nuclear, mining, and advanced technology sectors.

Who Can Apply?

The scholarship is available to students who:

• Ranked among the top 100,000 candidates in the 2025 or 2026 YKS university entrance examination.
• Have been admitted to one of the 27 approved undergraduate programs identified by the Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mineral Research Institute (TENMAK).

Applicants will be selected based on their YKS ranking and the admission quotas allocated to each academic program.

What Does the Scholarship Include?

In addition to financial support, participants will receive several academic and professional development opportunities.

Application Dates

Applications will be accepted between September 1 and September 15, 2026.

Students must apply through TENMAK's online application system and submit:

• Proof of university enrollment.
• Official documentation confirming their YKS ranking.

Applications will be accepted exclusively online.

Eligible Fields of Study

The scholarship covers programs related to strategically important sectors, including:

• Energy engineering.
• Nuclear technologies.
• Mining engineering.
• Boron and rare earth elements.
• Advanced materials.
• Other engineering and scientific disciplines included in the list of 27 approved programs.

Government's Long-Term Vision

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that the initiative is intended to support talented students from the very beginning of their university education.

The ministry plans to expand the scholarship program in future years, allowing third- and fourth-year students, graduate students, and researchers to apply as well.

The long-term goal is to attract outstanding students to scientific research and strengthen Turkey's workforce in strategically important industries.
