During the Kurban Bayramı holiday period, Turkey will offer free access to several major highways, bridges, and public transportation services as part of a nationwide decision published in the Official Gazette (Resmi Gazete).
🛣 Free highways and bridges
According to the official decision, toll-free access will be available between May 26 at 00:00 and May 30 at 24:00 for the following infrastructure:
- Highways operated by the General Directorate of Highways
- 15 Temmuz Şehitler Bridge
- Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge
🚆 Free public transportation services
Starting from May 27 at 00:00, several key public transport systems will also operate free of charge to support increased holiday travel demand.
- Marmaray rail line
- Başkentray commuter rail
- İZBAN suburban rail system
- Gayrettepe–Istanbul Airport–Arnavutköy Metro Line
- Sirkeci–Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line
- Municipal public transportation services
The decision aims to facilitate transportation during the holiday period and reduce travel costs for citizens across the country.
Free access measures are part of Turkey’s holiday traffic management strategy to support smoother travel during peak congestion periods.
