Railway Will Connect Turkey with the Arabian Peninsula
Saudi Arabia has announced the upcoming completion of a major infrastructure project — a railway line that will connect Turkey with the Arabian Peninsula via Jordan and Syria. The construction is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2026.
A New Stage of Regional Transport Integration
Saudi Transport Minister Saleh Al-Jasser stated that the country is entering a new era in railway development. According to him, the launch of this route will mark an important step in strengthening economic and logistical ties between regional countries.
“This project will enhance regional integration and create a sustainable land transport system between countries in the region, supporting trade,” the minister said in an interview.
The future railway line will ensure uninterrupted freight transportation and become a key link in the supply chain between Turkey and Gulf countries.
Strategic Infrastructure Already in Place
Today, Saudi Arabia’s railway network already extends to the Jordanian border via the Al-Haditha crossing. This existing line serves as the foundation for the future international transport corridor.
New freight routes will be integrated with existing infrastructure, enabling seamless connection between land and maritime logistics flows.
Development of Ports and Logistics Centers
Special focus is being placed on developing port infrastructure. According to the minister, Red Sea ports have a total annual handling capacity of up to 17 million containers.
All logistics components — ports, railways, and transport corridors — operate within a unified system, ensuring supply chain stability and continuous trade flow.

Strengthening Regional Logistics Power
