Türkiye’s Araban garlic, a geographically indicated product from Gaziantep and registered by the EU, has been ranked among the world’s top five garlic varieties by global food platform TasteAtlas.
The platform, known for ranking traditional foods and culinary heritage worldwide 🌍, evaluated 17 garlic varieties from leading producing countries including China, Spain, France, and Italy.
Araban garlic secured 5th place, highlighting the growing international recognition of Türkiye’s regional agricultural products 🇹🇷.
🌱 Strong recognition for regional agriculture
Hasan Altun, head of the Araban Chamber of Agriculture and the Araban Garlic Producers Union, said the ranking reflects both the product’s reputation and its contribution to the local economy.
“Araban garlic continues to strengthen its position in global markets.”
He added that the achievement is an important milestone for regional farmers and producers 👨🌾.
