🎓 Türkiye Announces 2026 University Placement Results

Türkiye’s 2026 Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) placement results were announced on Tuesday, August 18. Candidates can access their results through the official website of the Measuring, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

ÖSYM President Bayram Ali Ersoy announced on NSosyal that the placement process had been completed and congratulated candidates who secured places in higher education programs.

📋 How to check the placement results

Candidates can check their university placement results through the official ÖSYM website using their Turkish identification number and candidate password.

No separate placement results document will be issued or sent to candidates by mail.

📅 University registration dates

According to ÖSYM, candidates who earned the right to enroll in a higher education program will be able to complete their registration between August 24 and August 28, 2026.

• Electronic registration will be available from August 24 to August 26.
• Candidates who register electronically must follow the documents and deadlines announced by their respective universities.

🔄 Additional preference opportunity

Students who were not placed in a higher education program will have another opportunity through the additional preference process.

Ersoy also congratulated the students who completed the examination preparation process, as well as the teachers and families who supported them throughout the process.

📊 More than 2.4 million candidates applied

A total of 2.43 million candidates applied for the 2026 YKS, according to ÖSYM.

• 2,425,560 candidates applied in total.
• 1,324,487 applicants were women.
• 1,101,073 applicants were men.
• 921,225 candidates were taking the examination for the first time.

The age range of applicants was also wide. The youngest candidate was 16 years old, while the oldest was 87 years old.

The largest number of applications came from 18-year-olds, with 696,766 candidates in this age group. A total of 20,159 candidates aged 50 and above also applied for the examination.

The 2026 YKS placement results determine which candidates have secured places in higher education programs across Türkiye, while students who were not placed can still participate in the additional preference process.
