Residents of Turkey reminded to check water, electricity, and gas meters

Property owners in Turkey should pay attention to the installation dates of their water, gas, and electricity meters. According to current regulations, meters installed between 2014 and 2019 are subject to mandatory inspection. If inaccuracies are found, they must be replaced by December 31, 2025.

Why is this important?

Over time, the accuracy of the measurements may decrease, leading to incorrect consumption calculations and inflated bills. The inspection will help avoid financial losses and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact your local municipality or service company;

  2. Submit a request for the meter inspection;

  3. If deviations are found, the meter will be replaced for free with a new-generation smart meter.

Attention!
Failure to comply will result in a fine of up to 10,000 Turkish lira.

Don't delay: requests for inspections are being actively accepted, and completion times may increase as the deadline approaches.
