New Accident Compensation System Launches in Turkey from April 2026
Starting April 1, 2026, Turkey introduces a new system for post-accident payments, aiming to simplify and speed up compensation for vehicle owners.
Key changes include:
- Advance payments for damage and depreciation
- Automatic assignment of experts through the EKSİST system — no intermediaries required
- Free damage assessments — citizens do not pay for expert services
- Option to choose a preferred expert if desired
- Mandatory expert assessment for damages over ₺40,000; for smaller damages, settlements can be arranged directly
- Disputes against expert reports can be submitted within 3 working days

The system will be piloted in Bursa and Ordu, with a nationwide rollout planned from July 2026.
