Antalya Launches Major Transport and Infrastructure Upgrade

Antalya Launches Major Transport and Infrastructure Upgrade

🚍 Antalya to Receive Major Infrastructure Upgrade: 150 New Buses, Tram Expansion and Modern Interchanges

The Antalya Metropolitan Municipality has unveiled an ambitious infrastructure development program that will modernize public transportation, road networks, utilities, and urban spaces. Over the coming years, residents and visitors can expect new buses, an expanded tram network, new multi-level interchanges, and billions of lira invested in public infrastructure.

The goal of the program is to make Antalya more modern, more comfortable to live in, and easier to navigate for both residents and millions of tourists.

🚋 Fourth Phase of the Tram Network

One of the city's flagship projects is the construction of the fourth phase of Antalya's tram network.

According to Acting Mayor Büşra Özdemir, financing for the project is in its final stage. Construction is expected to begin once the funding process is completed.

Alongside the tram expansion, the municipality plans to build six modern multi-level interchanges to ease congestion at some of Antalya's busiest intersections.

Expected benefits: reduced traffic congestion, shorter travel times, and a more efficient public transportation system.

🚌 150 New Buses by the End of 2026

The municipality also announced a major renewal of Antalya's public bus fleet.

By the end of 2026, 150 brand-new buses will enter service across the city.

The investment aims to:

  • increase service frequency;
  • improve passenger comfort;
  • replace older vehicles;
  • enhance public transport coverage throughout Antalya.

🛣 Major Road Improvements Continue

Road modernization projects are underway across several key transport corridors.

On Gazi Boulevard, the east-west carriageway is being widened to improve traffic flow along one of the city's busiest routes.

Meanwhile, Yüzüncü Yıl Boulevard is undergoing a comprehensive upgrade that includes:

  • new asphalt pavement;
  • landscaping and green spaces;
  • modern street lighting;
  • improvements to surrounding public areas.

🏗 Altıntaş Continues to Grow

The rapidly developing district of Altıntaş remains one of Antalya's priority investment areas.

According to municipal officials:

  • the district's drinking water supply has now been fully secured;
  • approximately 80% of the sewerage network has been completed;
  • construction of the stormwater drainage system is actively continuing.
Important: expanding utility infrastructure will support future residential developments and increase the area's attractiveness for investors.

💧 Nearly 7 Billion Turkish Lira Invested in Infrastructure

Antalya's water utility, ASAT, continues to implement one of the province's largest infrastructure investment programs.

Total investment has already reached approximately 7 billion Turkish lira.

Across the province, ASAT currently operates:

  • 36 wastewater treatment plants;
  • 34 drinking water facilities.

These investments are designed to strengthen public utilities and support Antalya's growing population.

🦟 Mosquito Complaints Down by 65%

The municipality also reported positive results from its seasonal pest control program.

Thanks to expanded treatment efforts, complaints about mosquitoes and midges have fallen by approximately 65%.

Municipal teams continue spraying operations throughout the summer season.

Investments in transportation, road infrastructure, and public utilities continue to strengthen Antalya's position as one of Türkiye's fastest-growing cities and one of the country's most attractive destinations for living and real estate investment.

📈 What Does This Mean for the Real Estate Market?

Large-scale infrastructure projects typically have a positive impact on property values. Better transportation, improved public services, and upgraded utilities make neighborhoods more attractive for both residents and investors.

Districts such as Altıntaş, where new residential developments and infrastructure projects continue to expand, are expected to remain among Antalya's most promising investment locations.
