Antalya Announces Free Transport for Eid al-Adha

The Municipality of Antalya has completed all preparations for the Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bayram) holiday and announced large-scale support measures for residents and visitors of the city. Authorities stated that all municipal services will operate in an enhanced mode and will respond to citizens’ requests 24/7.

Public transport in Antalya will be completely free from May 27 to May 30.

Free Transport Across the City

During the holiday period, residents will be able to use municipal buses, trams, and rail transport operated by the Municipality of Antalya free of charge.

In addition, special free shuttle services will be organized to the Kurşunlu and Uncalı cemeteries so that residents can easily visit the graves of their loved ones.

The Municipality of Antalya stated that all services are ready to ensure a peaceful and safe holiday for millions of residents and tourists.

Free Animal Sacrifice Services

Authorities have placed special emphasis on hygiene and safety during the Eid al-Adha period.

Free slaughter services for sacrificial animals will be provided under veterinary supervision at six locations across the city.

The operations will be carried out during the first two days of the holiday at the following sites:

  • Soğuksu animal markets;
  • Yeşilbahçe markets;
  • Döşemealtı Kömürcüler markets;
  • Serik slaughterhouses;
  • Kaş-Demre facilities;
  • Akseki slaughterhouse.

Emergency Services on High Alert

The Municipality of Antalya also announced additional safety measures and uninterrupted operation of municipal services.

Fire departments will operate in full readiness mode:

  • 677 personnel;
  • 47 fire stations;
  • 24/7 emergency response.

The ASAT Water and Sewerage Administration will continue 24/7 duty to quickly respond to water and infrastructure failures.

Municipal police will also increase inspections during the holiday period.

Residents will be able to contact municipal call centers 24/7 for any inquiries, complaints, or emergencies.

Authorities in Antalya emphasized that the main goal of all measures is to ensure a comfortable, safe, and peaceful holiday for both locals and tourists.
