Mobile Hair Salon Brings Free Services to Rural Alanya
Alanya Launches Mobile Hair Salon for Rural Residents
The Alanya Municipality has introduced an innovative social project — a mobile hair salon designed to provide free haircuts to residents in remote areas, mountain plateaus, and rural schools.
The new service aims to improve access to essential personal care services for underserved communities.
Fully equipped and solar-powered
The mobile salon operates as a fully autonomous unit powered by solar panels, making it both sustainable and efficient.
Inside, the vehicle features a complete professional salon setup, including:
- Professional barber chairs
- Air conditioning
- Television
- All necessary haircutting equipment
This allows residents to receive comfortable, high-quality service without traveling long distances to urban centers.
Supporting vulnerable groups
Special attention will be given to elderly residents and people with disabilities who may face difficulties reaching traditional city hair salons.
Children studying in rural schools will also benefit from the project by receiving free haircuts directly at their schools.
Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik described the initiative as the municipality’s first project of its kind, created to support people living in rural communities.
The project reflects Alanya’s growing focus on social inclusion, accessibility, and sustainable community services.
