New Medical Complex Planned for Alanya's Cikcilli Area

New Medical Complex Planned for Alanya's Cikcilli Area

Alanya Medical Complex Planned for Cikcilli

Alanya may get a new large medical complex in Cikcilli. According to Gazete Alanya, plans to expand the hospital in the Oba area have been revised following a ground survey of the site opposite the existing building.

Why Was the Original Plan Changed?

Groundwater was found at a depth of approximately three meters on the 26-decare site, covering around 26,000 m². The gravelly soil also creates additional difficulties. According to the publication, constructing a multi-storey building at this location was considered costly and risky.

What Is Planned for Oba and Cikcilli?

Under the revised plan, low-rise buildings for an emergency department and outpatient clinic could be constructed opposite the existing hospital. The remaining part of the site is expected to be used for parking and a green area with the participation of the municipality.

The main medical complex is planned for the Taşbaşı area of Cikcilli. The proposed site covers 80 decares, around 80,000 m², within the campus of Alaaddin Keykubat University, north of the KYK student dormitory. According to Gazete Alanya, official steps have already been initiated to allocate the land.

The project is currently at the preparation stage. The published report does not provide construction or opening dates.

What Could the New Complex Look Like?

Mehmet Şarani Tavlı, chairman of the district branch of the AK Party, said that following discussions with former Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and hospital management, a medical campus consisting of several buildings is being considered.

The campus is planned to be connected with the university's Faculty of Medicine and used to provide healthcare services to residents of Alanya and neighboring districts.

The new proposal would place the main medical complex in Cikcilli, while the Oba site could accommodate emergency and outpatient facilities, as well as parking and green space.

For Alanya, the development of medical infrastructure could become another significant urban project. However, specific implementation dates have not yet been announced.
