Turkish Passports Explained: Which One Do You Get?
Turkish Passports Explained: Maroon, Green, Grey, Black, and Pink — Which One Do You Get?
Turkey issues five different passport types — each with its own colour, status, and set of rights. For foreigners obtaining citizenship through property investment, it's important to understand: you receive the ordinary maroon passport, with full rights identical to citizens by birth.
Turkish law provides for five passport types: ordinary (maroon), special (green), service (grey), diplomatic (black), and temporary (pink). Foreigners who obtain citizenship through investment receive the maroon ordinary passport — the same one held by Turkish citizens by birth. Their rights are fully identical, including visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 110+ countries and territories.
