What does 2+1, 3+1 mean in Turkey

In Turkey, there is no standard layout in the apartments, but it is still possible to identify common patterns.

Choosing a property in Turkey, do not forget that the layout of the apartment in Turkey is very different from the layout of the apartments in Russia, and it is connected to different natural conditions, and also, of course, to the features of the culture of the country.

Have you learned the information about a property in Turkey already? If so, then you are surely aware that the numbers of Turkish rooms are indicated not like in Russia. For example, did you know that in Turkey, the special numerical designations like 1 +1 or 3 +2 or 2 +1are used? These at the beginning confusing combinations show not only the total number of rooms in the building, but each of them has also its own purpose. In fact, everything is quite simple: the first number shows how many bedrooms the apartment has, the second digit - the number of living rooms, and when you sum up those two numbers, you get the total number of rooms in the apartment.

Thus, for example, 2 +1 corresponds to a 3-room apartment in Moscow (or Russia in general), and 1 +1 is our usual two-bedroom apartment. It should be noted that the purpose of the Turkish Room "lies" essentially in its footage, so the living room will always be the largest room in the apartment, and bedroom will always be smaller.

For example, new apartments in modern Turkish resort areas often have a living room combined with the kitchen. This makes Turkish lounges very large. Sometimes the spaces are zoned; kitchen area usually separated by some arch or the bar, or sometimes it is a shared space. Then the areas are zoned by certain items of furniture or decor. Another feature of planning in Turkish apartments is very small yardage of bedrooms.

If we are talking about the villa, it is unlikely that there will be problems with the bedrooms, but in a 2-room or 3-room apartments bedrooms can often be smaller than you used to. Ideally, each bedroom is "equipped" with its own bathroom. So in a 3-room flat there will be two bathrooms - one of them is for the guests (it is usually located in the hallway), and the second one is usually inside one of the bedrooms.

In the case when an apartment has this kind of layout, the main bedroom is large in size, and the second one - child bedroom or one that is designed for guests – is usually small.

Also, balconies are another pleasurable thing. They can serve as a real terrace, where you can place the grill, chairs, a table and get a lot of unforgettable, positive emotions.
