Antalya: Choosing a District to Live In

Antalya is the tourist capital of Turkey, a province known worldwide. Millions of tourists spend their vacations at the resorts of this province each year, and thousands of foreigners purchase real estate there.
The main city of the province is Antalya itself. In Turkey, provinces are commonly named after their administrative centers. Antalya is a port city located on the Mediterranean Sea and is the fifth largest city in Turkey. The city consists of five major districts: Aksu, Kepez, Konyaaltı, Döşemealtı, and Muratpaşa.
Each district is further divided into several dozen neighborhoods.
Antalya boasts a delightful climate, excellent development, and its own international airport, situated just 15 km away.
Moreover, foreigners have a great affinity for Antalya, often choosing it for real estate purchases and permanent residency. One in every ten residents of Antalya is a foreigner, making it easy to adapt and find a sense of community. Additionally, Antalya has established national diasporas that create various clubs for socializing, and the city offers schools and kindergartens for foreign children. Russian, English, German, and other communities are present in Antalya.
Living in Antalya is extremely comfortable, with a pleasant climate, good ecological conditions, numerous beaches (including Blue Flag beaches), modern hospitals, and educational institutions. The city has excellent public transportation, providing easy access to any destination. Furthermore, Antalya and its surroundings boast an incredible number of historical attractions. Foreigners work in Antalya either as employees or by starting their own businesses, without encountering any issues.
When it comes to purchasing real estate, citizens of other countries most often choose three locations: Kepez, Konyaaltı, and Lara.
Lara:
Lara is technically not a district but a micro-district within the Muratpaşa district, which is the largest district in Antalya. However, due to extensive development and expansion, Lara is now regarded as a separate district.
It is in Lara that you'll find the most luxurious residential complexes and prestigious neighborhoods. This, of course, affects property prices, making real estate in Lara more expensive than in other areas of Antalya. However, with some effort, one can still find affordable options.
Among all the districts, Lara is the closest to Antalya's airport.
Lara serves as the city's business and entertainment center, with top-tier hotels, restaurants, office buildings, and the best shopping centers. Lara also boasts stunning beaches—sandy stretches with fine, golden sand and convenient access to the sea, equipped with excellent beach infrastructure. The total length of the coastline is over 15 km.
Lara is home to the largest shopping center in Antalya, TerraCity, which features numerous branded boutiques. Many tourists visit Lara specifically for shopping. Lara is also where you'll find the largest multi-profile clinics and hospitals in Antalya. The district has many sports complexes, including the prominent Avarosa Fitness Center. Lara is a prestigious area, and its real estate is highly sought after, making it a profitable investment.
Kepez:
Kepez is a large district with developed infrastructure. It is one of the youngest districts in Antalya and is currently experiencing active construction. Most residential complexes in Kepez are new, and the district is designed with consideration for global urban development trends. The area has a large number of educational institutions, medical centers, pharmacies, fitness centers, and other amenities of civilization. Just like in other districts of Antalya, many establishments in Kepez have staff who speak English, German, Russian and other foreign languages.
Kepez is also home to Antalya's main bus station, Otogar, from which you can travel to the most distant Turkish cities. Additionally, Kepez is known for its numerous parks and gardens. The district is often referred to as the "Emerald of Antalya" due to its abundant greenery. One of the parks in Kepez, Varsak Park, features an Olympic-sized swimming pool. Since Kepez is located farther from the sea (approximately 10-12 km), property prices are lower compared to coastal areas of Antalya.
Konyaaltı:
Konyaaltı is a large and highly popular district among foreigners. It is situated along the Mediterranean coast, to the north of the Toros Mountains. The district enjoys excellent air quality, with a blend of mountain and sea air. Konyaaltı is home to one of the largest beaches, a public beach stretching approximately 7 km. The beach features a magnificent promenade lined with numerous recreational areas, clubs, bars, and more. The district consists of over 30 neighborhoods, and foreigners most commonly purchase property in Liman and Hurma.
Konyaaltı is also very convenient for living, with schools, kindergartens, supermarkets, sports facilities, and a farmers market. Public transportation is readily available.
